I’ve been finding it difficult to read, write, or do anything vaguely creative. After all, we’re under the strain of a global pandemic and everything’s gone to shit.
The stress is real, but there’s a lot of good out there too. I don’t think it’s helpful to force optimism in the face of traumatic events; it’s normal and natural to react in a variety of ways, including with grief or anger. However, part of how I cope with things is continuously reminding myself that small things make a big difference, and for those who also gain benefit from this way of thinking I’ve decided to dedicate my blog to documenting the lovely little things happening as a direct result of Covid-19.
Though I’m still going to cry and stress out and mourn the losses we’ll face, and though I’ll still rage over the disgusting inhumanity of capitalism, I will deliberately look for the small kindnesses and share them with you. Please feel free to let me know if you see anything I should cover.
